Are you our next Senior Data Analyst?
About the role
As a Senior Data Analyst at Geolytix, you will play a key role in researching, developing, and maintaining high-quality global data products. You will:
- Research and source international data to enhance our understanding of populations, income, affluence, and economic trends across different markets.
- Build and refine demographic and economic datasets, including annual population estimates, disposable income projections, wealth indices, and affluence models.
- Develop and improve location data products by analysing customer demand, purchasing power, and regional economic variations.
- Investigate new data sources, methodologies, and approaches to ensure our data remains industry leading.
- Work across teams to provide meaningful data insights for internal teams and clients, supporting location strategy, retail planning, and market analysis.
- Ensure data quality and integrity, reviewing input and output data to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and consistency.
- Support junior analysts, guiding them in research methodologies, data validation, and understanding economic and demographic datasets.
- Help shape the evolution of our data products, looking for opportunities to refine existing methodologies and introduce new data-driven insights.
About You
- You have a passion for demographics, population research, and economic analysis and enjoy working with global data.
- You are curious and resourceful, always looking for new datasets, methods, and perspectives to improve insights.
- You enjoy understanding how different economies work, including variations in income, wealth, spending behaviour, and purchasing power.
- You have experience working with international data sources, including census data, household surveys, government statistics, and economic indicators.
- You are comfortable manipulating and analysing large datasets, using tools like SQL, or other programming languages, or data analysis platforms.
- You are a problem-solver, able to assess the strengths and limitations of different data sources and methodologies.
- You work well in a collaborative environment, sharing research, discussing findings, and supporting colleagues in their work.
- You are detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all aspects of data research and analysis.
Your qualifications and experience
- Experience working with demographic, economic, or location data, ideally in an analytical or research role.
- Strong data research skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate international datasets.
- Experience in data manipulation, whether through SQL, Python, or another tool.
- Experience in GIS and spatial data.
- A background in geography, economics, data analysis, or a related field is beneficial but not required.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to discuss insights clearly with different teams.
